The kid recently asked me if I wished I could walk. And I know we’re supposed to build up suspense in our writing, but I told her no. We’ve talked about disability awareness before, but she’s never asked me this question. I’ll start this by saying I used to be an ambulatory wheelchair user. That is a thing, it’s not some kind of miracle when wheelchair users get out of our chairs. Sit down. Growing up, I would walk in…
Sometimes I ask you guys what you’d like to read more about around here. And sometimes you tell me. A frequent request is more about my every day life as a wheelchair-user. Hi. I can do that. And so, during my recent assessment for a new wheelchair I figured out that I’ve had my current chair for going on 14 years. I thought it was 16, but we all know Math isn’t my thing. Anyway, that’s a long time. Too…
And so, today is Cerebral Palsy Awareness Day, which is part of Cerebral Palsy Awareness Month. Not to be confused with World Cerebral Palsy Day, which is also a thing. Another thing is this. I could also tell you that my most-asked question is ‘When was your accident?’ Sometimes, if I want to mess with nosey…

I don’t want to undo my Cerebral Palsy, a positive outlook won’t change it, and I don’t want to. I am disabled and proud. My frustrations spring…
I’m sitting here drinking my cup of coffee, flipping through some purple-inked pages in an actual marble composition book, trying to blog my way out of an afternoon slump. Edit: It’s now actually 8.50 at night. Dinner, a webinar, and Roald Dahl happened before I could finish this post. Time is weird. Hi. Who’s (still) with me? If you’re interested, here’s my daily routine. For real. Get up, tell Isla that it’s too cold to wear a dress, suggest she…
