Cold Feet

I don’t consider people old until they are at least 100.  Having said that, I think I have the circulation of an old lady. While my hands are always warm and sometimes even hot, my feet are blocks of ice that come in two colours:  purple and gray.  Gray is more of a shade, but never mind. Feels Like Home

  Sarge and I went back to Glasgow for my best friend’s birthday dinner last weekend.  After my gift-buying mission was complete and we went here for more vanilla (and hazelnut and gingerbread) coffee syrup, we went to my favourite coffee shop in my old neighbourhood. I spent all day Saturday looking for a particular piece I wrote on September 11th, 2001. I couldn’t find it, but in the search I found all my old journals and other writing that goes back pretty far. My Ode to Joe

I Am Not a Cook

I just finished a rather lovely dinner that Sarge made.  I eat, but I don’t cook.  Last night, while watching Life Is Beautiful for the first time (what took me so long?), I ate another meal Sarge made.  And I cried.  Twice.  But that was the film, and had nothing to do with his cooking.  When it’s my turn to cook, we get take-out, which is probably safer for all involved.
