Gin & Lemonade is Moving

25th November 2017

Hi, this is just a short note to say that after 7 years and a bit of blogging, I’ve just pressed the button on my own domain.  This move happens tomorrow and I hope you’re as excited as I am.

I’ve been thinking about investing in this blog for A LONG TIME, most recently on the trip to New York, while jetlagging with lots of coffee.

I’ve enjoyed my time on the free plan from WordPress, but I’d like to do more, so let’s just say I’ve graduated.

I’m still me,  and the gin is still the same, only better, I hope.

I’m still going to be blogging about life and parenting on wheels, sharing travel stories and book talk.

At the new place, you’ll find:

Longer-form writing

A more consistent posting schedule

Collaborations with people and brands that I like and trust.

Book talk, listicles, and other useful stuff.

I’m hoping the site transfer will be seamless.  I’m also hoping to transfer my subscriber list, but you may have to re-subscribe to the new site. To avoid confusion and for up to date posts, the new site is over here. See how it looks the same?

I’ll have email subscription for blog posts set up as soon as possible, and I’ll be introducing an email list different from blog post alerts.  Also, feel free to bookmark the new site when we go live.

Comments will remain open and I hope to maintain a safe place for discussion.  Think #coffeeshopvibes

Sharing of my posts will also remain an option, and I hope be easier.

The new site is at, but it isn’t live yet and there’s nothing doing until tomorrow.  Site re-direction from here to there will also be in place.

I do hope you’ll follow me over there, thanks for your support, and stay tuned for the same but different blog-warming party.

We can also connect on Facebook and Twitter.

Which reminds me, how’s your ankle?

      • Reply fattymccupcakes 26th November 2017 at 4:07 am

It was magically not swollen almost immediately upon paying the $35 to see the doctor! Funny how that happens ?. Thanks for asking, my friend!

Congrats! I just started following so I’ll make sure to follow when you move 🙂

    • Reply Lorna 25th November 2017 at 7:14 pm

Hi Mimi! Glad to meet you. I think if you subscribe to this one with email subscription on the sidebar and not the ‘follow’ button on the bottom of the screen, you’ll be transferred automatically, but we shall see tomorrow! I appreciate the connection. <3

I realize this is a lot to ask, but at some point would you be willing to do a post on how the transfer from WPfree to Dotcom went? I’m more interested in the process itself than in the fact that you’re moving.
Congrats by the way. May your traffic triple and your postcomments pentuple!

Not a lot at all! My take on it is coming up in a week or two, once I figure out what all the buttons do. Thank you for asking!

Yay for you! The new look is great!

Everything seems to have transferred seamlessly. I know I was worried about that when I made The Big Move earlier this year.

Still a few things to iron out, but overall really pleased for a ‘first’ day. It was your new site that got me thinking. Also, I need to email you!
